The Cartier Baignoire is an elegant and chic oval-cased watch named fittingly after the French word for "bathtub". The model was released in 1957 and has changed very little over the course of its lifetime, remaining one of Cartier's iconic, timeless designs. The Baignoire has been the choice of many French glamour icons such as Catherine Deneuve, Romy Schneider and Jeanne Moreau.

This particular Baignoire is a ref. 1955 in 18k solid white gold and features all the quintessential Cartier DNA with its Roman numeral dial, "secret signature" and cabochon sapphire crown. Sized at 22mm by 31mm, it is suitable for ladies as well as gentleman with slim wrists or a taste for smaller watches (which is increasing popular - as you can see the watch is photographed on my own wrist). This watch is twinned to its original Cartier black leather strap and 18k solid white gold Cartier pin buckle.

The overall condition of this example is excellent and it is ready to wear. The dial is in excellent, clean condition. The case is very good with some light surface scratches, and the glass is free of scratches. The watch is working well.
